             PILE (HAEMORRHOIDS)
Haemorrhoids are vascular structure in the anal canal, which help with stool Control. In their physiological state, they act as a cushion composed of arterio-venous channels and connective tissue that aid the passage of stool. 
          They become Pathological (Pile) when Swollen or inflamed. Piles are a very common ailment that may affect men and worren at any age. These are caused due to Continuous high pressure in the veins. other causes include constipation, excessive straining during bowel movements and Persistent diarrhoea. 
These swellings are usually round, discoloured and small lumps. Some patients can feel these lumps on their anus or even hanging from the anal Canal. These lumps can also be painful too.

                   Types of Piles
Piles are divided into two categories:- internal piles and external piles.
A. Internal piles: As the name implies, occur inside the anal canal, but they can also come out and hang outside your anus. This type of pile is further classified on the basis of whether they come out of the anus and if they do, how far are they out. They are classified as:
(1) First degree:- This type of piles do not come out of the anus but might bleed.

(2) Second degree :- They come out during a bowel movement but then go inside later.

3) Third degree :- They come out but will go inside if you push them.

(4) Fourth degree:- They are partially out of your anus and cannot be pushed inside. They can swell and can result in immense pain if blood clotting occurs inside the lump.

B. External piles, on the other hand, occur o Close to the anus below the anal canal. They too can be painful if blood clots inside the lumps.

Symptoms of Piles (Haemorrhoids)
The following are symptoms accompanied by haemorrhoids:
(1) A lump around or in the anus. 
(2) Bleeding during the bowel movement.
(3) Leaking faeces or slimy mucus. discharge from the anus.
(4) Feeling of constipation.
(5) The skin around the anus feels sore or itchy. 
(6) In case of external piles, feeling of discomfort and Pain after bowel movement.

              Causes of Piles
(1) Lack of fibre in the diet. 
(2) Inadequate Fluid intake.
(3) Stress
(4) Straining while passing stool 
(5) Constipation and diarrhea
(6) Constant sitting or standing for long hours at a stretch.
(7) Sitting for long periods of time on the toilet.
( 8) Anal intercourse.
(9) Being obese.
(10) Dysfunction of the Floor of pelvis.
(11) During Pregnancy.

*        If you have pile, do the following:
(1) Drink lots of fluid and eat plenty of fibre.
(2) Wipe you bottom with dam toilet Paper (3) Take Paracetamol if piles hurt.
(4) Take a warm bath to cease itching and pain.
(5) Gently push a pile back inside.
(6) Keep your buttom clean and dry.
( 7) Exercise resulary.
(8) Cut down on alcohol and caffeine (like tea, coffea and cola) to avoid constipation.

*        If you have pile, Don't do the following:
(1) Do not wipe your bottom too hard after you poo.
(2) Do not ignore the urge to poo.
(3) Do not push too heard when pooing.
(4) Do not take painkillers that contain codeine, as they cause constipations.
(5) Do not take ibuprofen if your piles are bleeding.

               Treatment For Piles
(1) Haemorrhoids cream
(2) Pilex tablets
(3) Doxycyclines
(4) Cafepime (Max-Pime)
(5) Primaxin
(6) Prednisolone
(7) Eat banana, Cucumber, melon, Pear, apple, sweet Potato, carrot, alo vera, etc.
